Adventures in the quantified self

I introduced the concept of the quantified self in a previous post. Now I plan to look at practical ways to apply principles of the quantified self in my personal life. More specifically, I will explore how personalized quantitative feedback on myself can help me achieve some important goals. For the rest of April until the end of March I plan to focus on three aspects: fitness, sleep, and scholarship.

Introducing the quantified self

This is an excellent talk on the quantified self. This term refers to the various ways that people gather quantitative data on themselves to create feedback that raises awareness of cognitive and physical functioning. The feedback loop created by the self-data generation can then be used for various forms of self-regulation. One key component of the quantified self movement is use of technology that allows people to gather self-data quickly and relatively cheaply.
